Maddix Curliss is a graduate of Central Ohio Technical College. He lives in Newark with his family. Last month, Ohio updated its tourism slogan for the first time since 2015, returning to a phrase our state used from the 1980s to the early 2000s: 'Ohio, The Heart of it All.' This will replace the bland slogan the Buckeye State used while I was growing up: 'Ohio. Find it Here.' You can find a lot of great things in Ohio, but when I turned 18 back in 2021, I worried there was one thing I wouldn't find here — a good job.
